Position Overview:
The Patient Registration Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient information for various admissions and elective procedures. This position is essential in assisting patients with their insurance inquiries and financial responsibilities, all while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accurately collects, verifies, and inputs patient demographic and insurance data into the system, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

2. Facilitates the signing and scanning of necessary documents to complete the admission process, including consent forms and insurance cards.

3. Communicates effectively with patients regarding their insurance benefits and financial obligations, ensuring clarity and understanding.

4. Adheres to all regulatory requirements and organizational procedures, including privacy regulations.

5. Conducts the admission notification process to secure payment for inpatient stays, ensuring proper communication with payers.

6. Provides patients with information about hospital policies related to financial responsibilities and payment options.

7. Responds to inquiries from patients, payers, and internal departments, delivering excellent customer service.

8. Collaborates with various departments to resolve issues and enhance hospital reimbursement processes.

9. Maintains knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, ensuring ethical and professional conduct in all interactions.

10. Participates in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on best practices and organizational changes.


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting or related financial services.
  • Familiarity with insurance programs and billing processes.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to perform tasks that may involve prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and interacting with patients and staff.
