Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Admitting Officer IV to join our team at UI Health. As a key member of our patient registration team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely patient registration and insurance verification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify Patient Demographics: Accurately verify patient demographics and contact patients to obtain any necessary updates.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify and document patient insurance coverage and guarantor information, ensuring that patients are eligible for intended care at UI Health.
  • Registration and Documentation: Register patients and document any changes in UI Health systems, including leaving voicemails and documenting failed attempts to reach patients.
  • Problem-Solving and Resolution: Resolve missing registration errors and maintain expected lead times and organization while completing tasks.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, providers, and clinic staff, both in person and via telephone.
  • Team Leadership: Assign work to staff, verify staffing levels, and complete daily reports and administration of incoming digital faxes.
  • Quality Assurance: Audit staff productivity and phone recordings for customer service and appropriate greetings.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Five years of experience in a medical setting, including business administration, customer service, health information technology, medical insurance, patient admission/registration, patient services, or closely related experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: One year of supervisory experience in a medical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish.
