We are currently seeking a Physician/Principal Investigator at Wake Research. This part-time position is based at our Dallas, TX site, with an average workload of approximately 8 hours per week. Specialty focus: Endocrinology.

Position Summary

As a Clinical Research Physician, you will offer clinical mentorship and leadership in the development and execution of clinical trials within our organization. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of clinical and pharmaceutical medicine, engaging with patients, health authorities, colleagues, and biopharmaceutical companies. Your primary focus will be on clinical trials spanning phases I to IV, where you will assess and monitor the safety of clinical trial participants while collaborating with the team on all facets of clinical and scientific input and safety evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical expertise in the execution of clinical trials.
  • Foster positive relationships and networks with internal and external medical professionals and local opinion leaders.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across various functions, including Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, and Patient Engagement.
  • Lead and oversee a team of researchers and clinical staff involved in the conduct of clinical trials.
  • Ensure the successful implementation of research protocols in accordance with FDA regulations and GCP guidelines.
  • Evaluate the eligibility of study volunteers for clinical trials.
  • Conduct physical examinations and assessments as required by research protocols.
  • Complete all necessary industry training.
  • Assess the health of study patients through interviews and physical examinations.
  • Communicate relevant information to patients regarding their diagnosis and treatment objectives.
  • Review diagnostic reports and provide clinical guidance to the study team.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of post-training experience as a physician in endocrinology.
  • Current medical license to practice in the state of hire, with no history of license suspension or debarment.
  • Advanced understanding of treatment protocols and drug interactions.
  • Ability to establish rapport with patients and biopharmaceutical sponsors.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in providing clinical oversight to research teams.
  • Background in clinical research.
