Position Overview

Job Summary: The Clinical Research Assistant plays a vital role in the execution of clinical trials, ensuring adherence to protocols and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Uphold all organizational policies and ethical standards.

2) Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with all regulations.

3) Engage effectively and courteously with participants in the study.

4) Gather comprehensive medical histories and current health conditions of participants.

5) Facilitate the collection of Informed Consent Forms.

6) Manage the dispensing and accountability of study medications.

7) Assess and document concomitant medications taken by participants.

8) Review medical records to ensure compliance with study requirements.

9) Conduct assessments for Adverse Events (A/E) and Serious Adverse Events (SAE).

10) Execute EKGs, monitor vital signs, and perform protocol-specific procedures.

11) Collect, process, and ship biological samples including blood, urine, and tissue.

12) Assist in the upkeep of regulatory files for the clinical site.

13) Ensure the accuracy of all collected data.

14) Document temperature readings for investigational products stored on-site.

15) Work directly with participants who have tested positive for COVID-19.

16) Oversee all necessary documentation and training for study startup, adhering to timelines for assigned protocols.

17) Fulfill all requirements and deadlines set forth by study protocols.

Qualifications: To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively perform essential duties.

Education and Experience:

1) A Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related discipline is required.

2) Proficiency in data collection and computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, is essential.

3) Willingness to travel between various study sites to conduct research activities is necessary.

4) Previous research experience is preferred but not mandatory.

5) Certification as a Medical Assistant is advantageous.

6) Skills in phlebotomy, EKG, and other technical areas as required by the protocol are preferred.

7) Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial.

8) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

9) Strong problem-solving skills and a quick learning aptitude are essential.

10) Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required.

11) Strong customer service skills with both internal and external stakeholders are necessary.

12) A proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment is crucial.
