About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the AgCountry Endowed Chair in Agribusiness position at North Dakota State University. This is a tenure-track position that will be housed in the Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics.

Responsibilities
  • Develop leadership in the department's research and teaching programs in agribusiness with an emphasis on finance and risk analysis.
  • Conduct research and publish in leading academic journals.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in agribusiness with an emphasis on finance.
  • Supervise graduate students and develop new courses in the general areas of agribusiness with an emphasis on ag finance.
  • Participate in professional activities and contribute to the department's service and outreach activities.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in agricultural economics or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching and research in agribusiness.
  • Expertise in agribusiness finance and quantitative methods.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and disseminate results in leading academic journals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
  • Ability to supervise MS and Ph.D. students.
  • Ability to obtain extramural funding to support research activities.
  • Ability to communicate research results to clientele groups.
  • Demonstrated consistent and excellent contributions to research and publication, and scholarship.
  • A record of externally funded research in agricultural economics, agribusiness, finance, and/or risk analysis.
