Role Summary:

We are in search of a proficient Mechanical Engineer, PE to offer dedicated, on-site support as part of our Engineering Operations team. This position entails overseeing and executing intricate infrastructure repair and modernization initiatives while ensuring adherence to all applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of extensive infrastructure repair and modernization projects, including drafting performance work statements (PWS), formulating estimates, and serving as a technical advisor during source selection processes.
  • Facilitate project execution meetings, act as Technical Representative, and conduct Quality Assurance and Safety compliance inspections.
  • Perform functional testing and commissioning for government acceptance of systems through comprehensive verification of design, installation, functionality, and performance.
  • Provide expert engineering guidance on compliance and quality management for major building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, security, communications, building automation, and fire suppression systems.
  • Support water treatment management programs, gathering and validating performance data and metrics for reporting purposes.
  • Assist facilities in enhancing energy efficiency and water treatment effectiveness.
  • Mentor junior engineers, offering technical reviews and supervision to foster their professional development and ensure compliance with engineering standards and policies.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant practical experience in the healthcare sector, along with at least 5 years of design and consulting experience. This experience should include direct responsibility for the management and maintenance of substantial mechanical infrastructure systems in large institutional or medical settings, with recent experience spanning the last three years.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced skills and extensive practical experience in mechanical engineering, capable of analyzing plans, data, designs, operations, and maintenance practices accurately.
  • Proficient in developing estimates and making recommendations for repairs and optimization of building systems.
  • Strong understanding of local, municipal, and federal building codes and standards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills, capable of delivering high-quality presentations to diverse audiences.
