Role Summary:We are in search of a proficient Mechanical Engineer, PE to offer dedicated, on-site support as part of our Engineering Operations team. This role will focus on the development and execution of intricate infrastructure repair and modernization initiatives while ensuring adherence to all applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure repair and modernization projects, including the creation of performance work statements (PWS), cost estimation, and serving as a technical advisor during source selection processes.
- Facilitate project initiation meetings, act as the Technical Representative, and conduct Quality Assurance and Safety compliance assessments.
- Oversee functional testing and commissioning for government acceptance of systems, ensuring thorough verification of design, installation, functionality, and performance.
- Provide expert engineering guidance on compliance and quality management for major building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, security, communications, building automation, and fire suppression systems.
- Support water treatment management programs, collecting and validating performance data and metrics for comprehensive reporting.
- Assist healthcare facilities in enhancing energy efficiency and water treatment processes.
- Mentor junior engineers, offering technical reviews and guidance to foster their professional development and ensure adherence to engineering standards and policies.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant practical experience in the healthcare sector, with at least 5 years in design and consulting roles. Experience must include direct oversight of large mechanical infrastructure systems in institutional, industrial, or medical settings, with recent experience spanning the last three years.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced skills and extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong ability to analyze plans, data, designs, operations, and maintenance practices.
- Capability to develop cost estimates and provide recommendations for repairs and optimization of building systems.
- In-depth knowledge of local, municipal, and federal building codes and standards.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality presentations to diverse audiences.
