Role Summary:
We are looking for a proficient Senior Mechanical Engineer, PE to join our team. This position requires full-time, on-site engagement to support our engineering operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing complex infrastructure repair and modernization initiatives while ensuring adherence to applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of intricate infrastructure repair and modernization projects, including the creation of performance work statements (PWS) and cost estimates.
- Facilitate project initiation meetings, act as the Technical Representative, and conduct Quality Assurance and Safety compliance evaluations.
- Perform functional testing and commissioning to secure government acceptance of systems through thorough verification of design, installation, and performance.
- Provide expert engineering guidance on compliance and quality management for critical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, and fire suppression systems.
- Support water treatment management programs by collecting and analyzing performance data for reporting purposes.
- Assist Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in enhancing energy efficiency and water treatment operations.
- Mentor junior engineers, offering technical reviews and guidance to foster their professional development and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the healthcare sector, with at least 5 years in design and consulting roles, focusing on the management of large mechanical systems.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced skills and extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong ability to analyze plans and operational data.
- Proficient in developing estimates and making recommendations for system repairs and optimizations.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes and standards at local, municipal, and federal levels.
- Exceptional communication and analytical skills, capable of delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
