Job Summary

The Child Care Educator is a key member of the teaching team at Mozaic Senior Life, responsible for providing high-quality care and education to an assigned group of children. This role requires a strong commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and stimulating learning environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Development and Education
    • Design and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the unique needs and abilities of each child.
    • Plan and lead engaging activities that promote language and literacy development, number concepts, art, music, and science.
    • Use positive guidance techniques to support social and emotional development, and encourage children to develop positive self-esteem and social skills.
  • Classroom Management and Safety
    • Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment, adhering to state licensing requirements and regulations.
    • Ensure the safety, hygiene, and well-being of children in the assigned group.
    • Coordinate with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient daily routine.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with parents and families, providing regular updates on their child's progress and involving them in the learning process.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and ideas for improving the program.
    • Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and in-service training to stay up-to-date on the latest research and methodologies.
  • Professional Development and Accountability
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to improve personal and professional skills, and stay current with industry best practices.
    • Meet regular performance expectations, including maintaining accurate records, adhering to schedules, and demonstrating a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the job.
    • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture, promoting a sense of community and respect among colleagues.
    Requirements
    • Education and Certifications
      • CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or equivalent.
      • Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
    • Experience and Skills
      • 1-2 years of experience in early childhood education or a related field.
      • Strong knowledge of child development theory, educational methodologies, and teaching skills.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
      • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
    • Personal Qualities
      • Warm, friendly, and approachable personality, with a strong commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
      • Ability to recognize and respond to child abuse and neglect, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
