We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator II to join our team at Stratford Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing learning activities that promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of preschool children.
Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Development: Work with lead teachers to plan and prepare materials for children's learning activities, ensuring alignment with the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards.
- Instructional Delivery: Conduct learning activities with children, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Contribute to the assessment, recording, and reporting of children's progress, using the results to inform future learning activities.
- Classroom Management: Supervise children's activities to ensure their safety and well-being, maintaining a clean and orderly learning environment.
- Collaboration and Support: Provide classroom coverage in the absence of the lead teacher, supporting the team in achieving educational goals.
- Qualifications: A minimum of a Childhood Development (CDA) or equivalent, with a preference for an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood and two years of experience working with preschool children.
- Teaching Experience: Successful teaching experience at the early childhood and/or kindergarten levels, with a strong understanding of child development principles.
- Professional Development: Familiarity with the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards, with a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
- Work Environment: The preschool classroom is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to lift 40 pounds and meet the physical demands of the role.
- Certifications: Current First Aid, CPR, and medication certification, or willingness to obtain.
