Position: Supply Chain Procurement Expert

Capricor Inc is in search of a meticulous and experienced Supply Chain Procurement Expert to enhance our procurement team. This pivotal role is essential for overseeing the acquisition of biotech resources and services, ensuring that we obtain high-quality supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner that aligns with our organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Oversight:
    • Oversee the complete procurement cycle for materials, equipment, and services.
    • Assist in crafting and executing procurement strategies.
    • Develop and maintain vendor partnerships while monitoring On Time In Full (OTIF) performance.
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure beneficial agreements.
    • Utilize and support the integration of procurement technologies (such as ERP systems) to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Prepare and issue purchase orders and amendments.
  • Supplier Management:
    • Assess and select suppliers based on pricing, cost-effectiveness, and material availability.
    • Conduct regular evaluations and audits of supplier performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and quality benchmarks.
    • Address supplier-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Inventory Control:
    • Monitor stock levels to maintain sufficient supply without excess inventory.
    • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams for efficient inventory management.
    • Implement and oversee a tracking system for procurement and inventory activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure all procurement activities align with company policies and legal standards.
    • Maintain precise records of purchases, contracts, and agreements.
    • Generate reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Operate within budgetary limits to achieve cost efficiencies.
    • Monitor and report on spending to ensure budget compliance.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work with cross-functional teams to understand procurement requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
    • Engage in collaborative efforts to support project goals and initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • 1-2 years of procurement experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences sectors.
  • Strong understanding of biotech materials, equipment, and supplier networks.
  • Proficient negotiation skills, contract management expertise, and experience in supplier relationship management.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software and tools.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and complex formulas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and quality requirements in the biotech field.
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to achieving business objectives and accountability for decisions.
  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP, CPSM) is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills for both telephone and in-person interactions, along with completing necessary documentation.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as required by business needs.
