Position: Purchasing Manager
Role Summary
This managerial role is integral to the operational success of Monolithic Power Systems, requiring collaboration with various departments including Engineering, Operations, and Sales/Marketing. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for enhancing the purchasing process across multiple regions, particularly in the US, Europe, and Taiwan, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all complex purchasing categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with executive leadership to synchronize purchasing strategies with the company's objectives, utilizing strong facilitation skills to achieve consensus.
- Navigate complex scenarios to clarify challenges, focusing on organization, workflow enhancement, and project management.
- Oversee and refine the purchasing order workflow with suppliers to guarantee consistency and optimal efficiency.
- Establish KPIs to assess supplier performance, maintain an updated Approved Vendors List, and identify improvement opportunities while developing cost-saving strategies.
- Possess a thorough understanding of bidding and contractual processes to negotiate favorable Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for long-term services within designated purchasing categories.
- Lead project management efforts in collaboration with business stakeholders and legal teams on complex category purchases, employing effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Enhance the capabilities of the purchasing team through training, performance goal setting, and evaluations, fostering a Best-in-Class purchasing environment.
- Regularly review and update all policies and procedures pertinent to the Purchasing Department.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in purchasing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity within the high-tech or manufacturing sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
- Proficient in workflow and procurement management software.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate processes for efficiency improvements.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and project management abilities.
- Experience in procuring electronics Engineering IP licensing is advantageous.
