Supply Chain Analyst

OVERVIEW:

The Supply Chain Analyst integrates data analysis with strategic planning to oversee the flow of materials from receipt to customer delivery.

This position transforms extensive business and operational data into clear, actionable strategies, driving the organization towards achieving its objectives. While the role is data-driven, it is also informed by insightful interpretations derived from that data.

In this capacity, the Supply Chain Analyst will coordinate and schedule the assembly of materials from component subassemblies to final packaging. This role is responsible for establishing production timelines and facilitating material requirement planning through effective communication with manufacturing and supply chain teams.

The individual will operate with minimal oversight, guided by broad corporate and departmental goals, and must possess the initiative to ensure that all operational data is processed and reported accurately and promptly. This role requires a solid foundation in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), MRP (Material Resource Planning), and best practices in manufacturing transactions, adhering to relevant regulations.

This position is hands-on, detail-oriented, and emphasizes process documentation, with a commitment to continuous improvement in demand planning, procurement, inventory management, and data integrity. The Supply Chain Analyst will maintain the highest standards for the IRRAS ERP System and inventory data, aligning with the company's overall objectives and contribution margin expectations. Exceptional analytical, computer, and reporting skills are essential to enable informed, data-driven decision-making across all levels of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct all activities in compliance with medical device industry standards and regulations.

Planning:

Facilitate the aggregation of commercial and internal product demand, setting system demand forecasts for supply chain and manufacturing orders.

Develop hypothesis scenarios comparing demand to inventory.

Identify aging work orders, production challenges, and manage excess or obsolete materials.

Oversee the scheduling of production and service activities, enhancing visibility into these processes.

Assess the organization's planning maturity and introduce tools like capacity planning to optimize manufacturing and financial oversight.

Inventory Management:

Ensure inventory accuracy across all levels and locations, collaborating with Finance, Commercial Operations, Warehouse, Quality, and Manufacturing to maintain >98% accuracy between physical counts and the ERP System.

Manage excess, obsolete, and scrap materials, providing regular reporting.

Develop and execute a warehouse strategy that aligns with key business objectives.

Create and manage inventory locations and ERP part master data.

Maintain product history records within the ERP System.

ERP System Expertise:

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the ERP System.

Assist in administering the ERP System by providing training, adding customers, and resolving data discrepancies.

Support the expansion of ERP functionality through controlled qualification and documentation.

Facilitate finance and regulatory audits by preparing necessary ERP information.

Analysis & Reporting:

Ensure effective data capture for metrics analysis.

Prepare, optimize, and present reports that translate data into actionable insights, including:

  • Commercial demand versus production output
  • Forecasting of expiring, excess, and obsolete materials
  • Analysis of slow-moving inventory
  • Management of open and aged work orders
  • Inventory valuation and part counts
  • Order fulfillment metrics
  • Forecasting discrepancies in demand plans

Continuous Improvement:

Introduce and coach lean best practices tailored to organizational maturity.

Identify and manage continuous improvement initiatives within Operations.

Encourage the team to identify and resolve inefficiencies.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

May perform other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with ERP and MRP systems in the medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a technical field with direct ERP and MRP experience.
