Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet patients upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression of our practice.
  • Handle front office tasks, including answering phone calls, managing office correspondence, and liaising with patients and insurance providers.
  • Utilize Dentrix software for patient scheduling and record management.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers within the office.
  • Process patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verifying benefits and explaining coverage options.
  • Record insurance and patient payments, managing accounts receivable.
  • Discuss treatment plan costs and payment alternatives with patients.
  • Collaborate with providers and team members to implement Heartland Dental systems, maximizing office efficiency.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Access to minimum PHI necessary for job functions; regular HIPAA training will be required to protect PHI and maintain data security.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical environment.
  • 1+ years of experience in insurance billing and accounts receivable.
  • Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Availability for periodic virtual or in-person training sessions throughout the year.
