Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, along with one year of experience in a customer service role, either in a direct interaction environment or a call center.
  • Alternatively, candidates with 30 college semester credit hours may also qualify.

Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this position or eligible for transfer under the Civil Service Law.

Key Responsibilities:
This role involves providing initial contact to customers via telephone, assisting them with navigating the self-service functionalities of the PeopleSoft system.

  • Address straightforward inquiries by explaining the PeopleSoft system, guiding customers through processes such as address changes and understanding loan options.
  • Assist customers in registering for the self-service portal by verifying their identities through various means.
  • Document issues in the system when operational defects are encountered, ensuring they are reported for resolution.

Additional duties include:

  • Processing loan forms and performing basic data entry to facilitate loan applications.
  • Handling calls related to basic Retirement System inquiries.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using personal computers to access various databases and systems is essential. Familiarity with the Retirement System's databases and the PeopleSoft system is advantageous.

Desired Competencies:
Candidates should possess:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with both staff and customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks within designated timeframes.
  • A solid understanding of the Retirement System's policies and procedures.
