Job Overview

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering connections within the community and assisting targeted populations. This position collaborates with a dedicated team to deliver a range of outreach services, including activities at the Clubhouse center, community engagement initiatives, and social media outreach. The coordinator is responsible for providing information, referrals, and initial contact support to individuals seeking assistance in accessing necessary services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the delivery of consistent, non-judgmental, and consumer-focused services that emphasize strengths and asset development.
  • Facilitates prevention services, initial contact, intake, and crisis intervention support.
  • Leads engaging activities for individuals and groups at designated venues.
  • Offers information, referrals, and connections to relevant services.
  • Conducts needs assessments and provides pertinent information to help consumers access suitable services.
  • Advocates for consumers with other community service providers.
  • Encourages consumer participation in positive community activities and Clubhouse programs.
  • Assists participants in arranging transportation as necessary.
  • Follows up on referrals to ensure that clients' needs are effectively addressed.
  • Develops and maintains outreach activity plans and informational materials for distribution.
  • Builds and nurtures positive relationships within the community and engages in public relations efforts for programs.
  • Collaborates with schools, community organizations, and agencies to promote Clubhouse activities.
  • Maintains accurate records of all interactions, collects statistical data, and performs data entry tasks.
  • Adheres to all relevant local, state, federal, and agency regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in training sessions, staff meetings, conferences, and seminars as required.
  • Undertakes additional program-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with community members and organizations.
  • Demonstrates understanding and empathy towards the needs of marginalized individuals.
  • Familiarity with program and agency policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, serving as a positive role model and representative of the organization.
  • Public speaking skills and creativity for presenting sensitive topics to diverse groups.
  • Willingness to actively engage in activities with consumers.
  • Ability to model effective problem-solving and life skills.
  • Capable of facilitating educational and recreational activities while participating with consumers.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and adaptability.
  • Must possess acceptable physical and mental health to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are required.

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility required.
