Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Night Shift Facilities General Maintenance Worker to join our operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for a range of tasks related to the upkeep and repair of facilities, premises, and various equipment. This role may involve tasks such as lock repairs, woodworking, electrical work, painting, and HVAC services, along with other routine maintenance activities associated with the operation of our facilities.

The individual will apply their technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, install, disassemble, or overhaul a variety of complex machinery and equipment. This position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Diagnosing, repairing, installing, disassembling, overhauling, and replacing machinery and equipment based on work orders or verbal instructions.
  • Providing electrical, mechanical, and technical support to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Conducting electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Monitoring and maintaining building electrical systems, assisting licensed electricians with non-technical repairs as necessary.
  • Overseeing the performance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, performing standard repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintaining plumbing systems, including repairing leaks and cleaning waste lines, while assisting licensed plumbers as needed.
  • Executing carpentry tasks, including painting and hardware installation.
  • Replacing various components such as bearings, motors, and electrical switches.
  • Utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders and procure necessary parts for repairs.
  • Performing welding and metal fabrication tasks as required.
  • Documenting all work performed and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams on various projects.
  • Ensuring a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety protocols and company policies.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operating lifts, tractors, and vehicles as needed for job tasks.
  • Participating in training sessions and team meetings as required.
  • Following written and verbal instructions from supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Technical Associate's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of mechanical principles and industrial equipment is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks.
  • Close visual acuity for detailed work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The role involves working both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying temperatures and potential hazards. Proper safety equipment is required based on job tasks.
