Position Summary
The Engineering Technician applies specialized technical knowledge to support production, maintenance, and engineering efforts aimed at continuous enhancement, troubleshooting, repairs, installation, root cause analysis, and project execution. This role demands a professional capable of independently managing complex machinery and systems with minimal guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties Include:
- Executing maintenance repairs, continuous improvement initiatives, and project tasks.
- Providing electrical, mechanical, and technical assistance to promote safe and efficient production.
- Diagnosing, repairing, and replacing machinery and equipment as per work requests or verbal instructions.
- Assisting in troubleshooting and root cause analysis while performing duties typical of Maintenance Technicians.
- Identifying causes of equipment malfunctions and executing repairs across all equipment in the facility, including but not limited to various processing and packaging machines.
- Replacing components such as motors, pumps, drives, PLCs, instrumentation, valves, and electrical switches.
- Utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders, identify faulty equipment, and procure necessary parts for repairs.
- Generating, modifying, and interpreting programs to support engineering and maintenance projects.
- Creating and maintaining accurate documentation for all work-related activities.
- Collaborating on various engineering and maintenance projects as needed.
- Maintaining organized computerized and paper records of relevant information.
- Facilitating communication between Maintenance, Engineering, and other departments.
- Ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment by adhering to established safety protocols and company policies.
- Applying knowledge of equipment capabilities and design limitations to perform job tasks effectively.
Additional Responsibilities
- Operating personal or company vehicles as required for job functions.
- Participating in training sessions, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as necessary.
- Receiving and executing written and verbal instructions related to job tasks and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:
- Technical Associate's degree or equivalent training or experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in high-volume process manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, drives, controls, industrial instrumentation, and related systems.
- Background in industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Basic understanding of software and programming principles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Supervisory Role:
No supervisory responsibilities.
Equipment Utilized:
Personal computer, PLCs, drives, industrial instrumentation, and communication devices.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves various physical activities, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting. The technician must be capable of performing tasks that require significant physical effort and agility.
Work Environment:
Primarily office conditions with occasional exposure to plant and outdoor environments as dictated by specific tasks.
