Position Overview:

As a Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of agricultural and turf machinery. This position is integral to ensuring that our customers' equipment operates efficiently and effectively.

Department: Service

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Service Manager or Service Location Manager

Location: St. Matthews, SC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic diagnostics and perform repairs on agricultural and turf machinery, including established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
  • Engage in Service EDUCATE Training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated on the latest John Deere and competitive products.
  • Ensure the upkeep of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain a tidy work environment and execute tasks in an organized manner.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while completing work assignments.
  • Complete all necessary reports and documentation associated with work tasks.
  • Track all time and materials used in the execution of assigned duties.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in service repairs.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using specialized tools and following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to agricultural and turf equipment repair.
  • Proficient in using Service Advisor and basic computer applications.
  • Capability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Basic Service Technician certification is preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • A forklift license is preferred.
