Role Summary:


Suffolk is a $5B+ construction organization that harnesses high-performing talent, innovative methodologies, and advanced technologies to achieve over 10% annual growth over the past decade while transforming urban landscapes across the nation.

Our strategic objective is to enhance core construction revenue by 50% within the next five years, while evolving our identity from a standalone construction entity to a fully integrated real estate platform that includes design, specialty trades, and investment in construction technologies.


The Strategy team is central to this initiative, responsible for defining Suffolk's enterprise strategy and charting the course for its realization.

The Corporate Strategy Lead will be instrumental in collaborating with senior leadership to uncover market and operational insights, articulate corporate and business unit strategies, and facilitate implementation across the organization.

The Strategy team comprises former top-tier consultants, with this role reporting to a former BCG Partner.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior executives across the organization to identify, prioritize, and address critical strategic challenges.

- Define project parameters, develop project work plans, execute precise analyses, and generate actionable recommendations.

- Engage with key stakeholders to foster 'buy-in' and collaboration in the development and execution of solutions.

- Lead cross-functional meetings to communicate complex concepts, drive project timelines, and facilitate discussions with increasing autonomy.

- Prepare executive-level presentations that summarize findings and propose strategic actions.

- Oversee the execution of strategic initiatives, including planning, milestone setting, and ongoing performance tracking.

- Utilize market research and strategic frameworks to formulate strategic plans for Suffolk and its various regions/business units, including support for annual and five-year planning processes.

- Assist in the business planning and process development for internal start-ups/new verticals within Suffolk.

- Analyze new market opportunities both within and outside the core business and develop business plans to evaluate growth potential and market entry strategies.

- Assess investment opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, for strategic alignment and financial viability.

- Design corresponding organizational and operational frameworks to support the execution of strategic decisions.

- Effectively communicate critical findings or decision points to team and company leadership while acting as a collaborative partner and mentor to colleagues within and outside the Strategy organization.

Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of pre-MBA strategy consulting experience.

- 1-2 years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or related industries preferred, but not mandatory.

- Strong analytical skills, employing a hypothesis-driven approach to define and dissect problems, structure relevant quantitative and qualitative analyses, and identify implications of data and analysis.

- Excellent project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.

- Proficient financial and Excel modeling skills; familiarity with Tableau and Alteryx is advantageous but not required.

- Ability to articulate and present complex information to senior management in a clear and concise manner, both in writing and verbally.

- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with a proven ability to earn the trust of individuals at all organizational levels.

- Passion for the construction industry, Suffolk, and the enterprise's long-term vision and strategy.

- Willingness to engage in hands-on work and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Working Conditions:


While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods; communicate verbally and audibly; and perform fine motor skills using a keyboard, telephone, or writing instruments.

The employee frequently stands, walks, and reaches with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will primarily work in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
