Job Summary

The Director of Development and Donor Engagement is a key leadership position responsible for implementing the organization's fundraising strategy and guiding the implementation of a resource development and community relations program for Family Service Association of San Antonio Inc. This role requires a strong track record of meeting or exceeding measurable fundraising goals in a medium to large, fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to further the agency's established goals and objectives.
  • Guide the implementation of a resource development and community relations program to increase revenue generating activities and enhance donor support.
  • Write grants, proposals, and other required communications to secure funding for agency programs and capital needs.
  • Oversee all campaigns and special events related to fundraising and community engagement efforts that support the organization's mission.
  • Recruit and cultivate ongoing relationships with donors and donor institutions to ensure a steady pipeline of support.
  • Communicate the rationale, methodology, and goals of the agency and assigned program(s) to community groups and organizations through written materials, oral presentations, and media appearances.
  • Maintain good relationships with stakeholders, including current and potential clients, community, and coworkers, focusing on providing excellent and culturally sensitive customer service and presenting a positive image of the agency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or fundraising fields; Master's degree desirable.
  • At least 5 years community development and/or fundraising experience in progressively responsible leadership positions with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing operational and performance outcomes.
  • Verified track record of meeting or exceeding measurable fundraising goals in a medium to large, fast-paced nonprofit environment.
  • Experience in the use of social media and social networking to communicate with donors, generate revenue, educate the public, and broadcast mission.
  • Proficiency with fundraising applications, donor management systems, and marketing analysis, and using available data to perform comprehensive donor data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, task and time management, delegation, and oversight of others' work.
  • Fluent in English (read, write, and speak) required and Spanish (desirable).
  • State of Texas vehicle operator's license and proof of liability insurance.
