Job Overview

The role of the Sales Account Manager involves evaluating potential business opportunities and engaging with local, regional, and national enterprises to facilitate consultative digital advertising sales.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in sales and demonstrate leadership in marketing. This position requires the ability to identify, cultivate, and sustain a client territory through direct interactions, networking events, branding initiatives, presentations, and strategic engagement at the highest organizational levels. The Sales Account Manager will collaborate with clients, advertising agencies, and internal teams to design integrated advertising and marketing strategies that align with clients' needs and objectives, ultimately achieving their key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Build and sustain your sales territory by enhancing brand presence, driving business development, and executing advertising sales.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our product offerings and media solutions.
  • Foster and nurture high-level relationships with clients and agencies, employing a consultative approach to sell digital advertising solutions.
  • Identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities with existing clients and advertising agencies to strengthen ongoing relationships.
  • Deliver continuous client management to partners, including regular evaluations of marketing plan performance, educational initiatives, and client engagement activities.
  • Provide consistent updates to management regarding business pipeline, progress towards goals, territory insights, and any challenges encountered.
  • Conduct client needs assessments to identify marketing challenges and formulate strategies to address those needs.
  • Surpass annual revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

Identify new business opportunities in both B2C and B2B sectors through proactive outreach to potential clients and advertising agencies, utilizing face-to-face meetings, presentations, events, and other related efforts.

Meet revenue targets established by the organization for both existing and new accounts. Sell advertising and digital solutions while providing ongoing service to advertising agencies and direct clients. Evaluate the advertising revenue potential of assigned accounts and communicate clients' marketing needs to sales management, research, production, and/or promotion teams to create compelling presentations that demonstrate how our company can meet those needs through targeted marketing strategies. Maintain positive relationships with clients and internal personnel.

Collaborate with internal teams, including planning, marketing, research, account management, and ad operations, to develop integrated media plans and supporting materials.

Utilize available industry information about each assigned or prospective advertiser to approach them with informed sensitivity. Present solutions to key decision-makers in both written and visual formats. Manage client-selected solutions and ensure exceptional customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: A college degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience. A demonstrated history of sales achievements and successful sales presentations is essential.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. Experience in digital sales is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proven business development specialist with a successful history of building and expanding a client base and agency relationships, including prospecting, lead generation, and deep relationship development.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in advertising/media sales with the ability to develop, present, and sell high-level media strategies and marketing plans to C-Level clients and advertising agency teams.
  • Strong time management, business acumen, and work ethic are essential.
  • A track record of exceeding revenue goals and achieving overachievement.
  • Knowledge of competitive media strengths and weaknesses is preferred.
  • Strong sales skills, with the ability to create effective sales promotions and demonstrate adaptable negotiating skills.
  • Proficient in technology, including mobile devices, applications, Outlook, calendars, Teams, Zoom, Basecamp, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, competitive, yet remote work environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently and adapting quickly to various selling situations.
  • A valid US driver's license is required.
