Business Development Role Overview
FCX Performance, an Applied Industrial Technologies Company, is seeking a Business Development Resource Representative to expand and enrich our Sales Team in their mission to provide quality flow control parts and exceptional service to businesses across the country.
The Sales team's mission is two-fold: generate new relationships with customers, while maintaining and satisfying our existing relationships with legacy customers. The Business Development Resource role is the first point of contact with new and dormant accounts, and will be best performed by a charismatic, creative, and hardworking individual who can connect with decision-makers, diagnose needs and pain points, and begin the process of establishing our collaboration with these new customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform outreach activities, relying primarily on phone calls, but also utilizing a plurality of contact methods, including emails and LinkedIn messages, to make contact with decision-makers at companies identified as potential customers.
- Gauge interest in new flow control suppliers, identify needs and desires, and lay ground to introduce the decision-maker to the team member that will carry out the next steps.
- Achieve and outperform quotas set by leadership.
- Collaborate with OSRs and Sales Leaders to prioritize regions, market sectors, and product families where customer growth is most desired.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic, with the drive to make 75+ phone calls a day, in addition to other outreach activities.
- Strong listening skills, with the ability to lead a conversation.
- Proficiency at locating decision-makers and navigating complex and obfuscated organizations.
- Creativity in building rapport with contacts.
- Knowledge of inputting contact data into a CRM. Rubbertree experience a plus.
- Basic proficiency with Excel, to organize and systematize outreach schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications or related field/equivalent experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
- 1+ years of sales experience (industrial or business to business preferred).
