Senior Civil Engineering Project Leader

Position Overview

Timmons Group is in search of a Senior Civil Engineering Project Leader - Structures and Bridges to enhance our Structures and Bridge Engineering Division.

Key Responsibilities for the ideal candidate encompass:

  • Overseeing and directing design initiatives for the Structural Engineering team
  • Managing client relationships and fostering business development
  • Creating work plans, timelines, cost estimates, and financial projections
  • Supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the contributions of engineering staff
  • Guiding and developing junior engineering professionals
  • Executing intricate designs for both new constructions and rehabilitation projects
  • Experience in bridge design and load rating is advantageous
  • Contributing to the formulation and execution of marketing strategies

Required Skills and Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering; a master's degree is preferred
  • 8-15 years of experience in structural design
  • Possession of a current North Carolina PE license or eligibility to obtain it through comity upon hiring
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, and NCDOT standards
  • Expertise in structural design software such as MDX, Virtis, Merlin-Dash, Descus, Bar7, STAAD, etc.
