I. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Business Development is a pivotal leadership position aimed at ensuring the organization achieves its revenue, EBIDTA, Average Daily Census (ADC), admissions, and operational expense (OPEX) reduction objectives. This role is centered on fostering growth and necessitates a highly self-sufficient and proactive individual capable of effectively managing and executing strategic plans and systems. The performance of the Director will be assessed based on the team's success in meeting the goals established by the Vice President of Business Development.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate robust strategic thinking, outstanding leadership capabilities, and a solution-focused mindset to meet growth targets and enhance organizational performance.

II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to enhance revenue, EBIDTA, ADC, admissions, and OPEX objectives.
  • Lead and oversee the Business Development Team, offering guidance, support, and training to ensure the team's effectiveness in reaching targets.
  • Identify and assess potential growth avenues, markets, and referral sources to broaden the organization's outreach.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, referral sources, and industry leaders to amplify business opportunities and maximize referrals.
  • Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Execute and refine sales and marketing strategies tailored to target demographics, collaborating with cross-functional teams for successful implementation.
  • Monitor and evaluate sales metrics, KPIs, and financial performance, providing regular updates and recommendations to the Regional Director of Business Development.
  • Craft and present compelling presentations and proposals to illustrate the organization's value proposition and secure new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to formulate and manage budgets, revenue forecasts, and expense reduction strategies.
  • Continuously assess and enhance business development processes and systems to promote efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging markets, and competitive developments to identify new revenue generation and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, offering guidance and support to the Business Development Team as necessary.
  • Foster a collaborative and solution-oriented culture within the Business Development Department and across teams.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Business Development.

III. ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

A. Education and Experience:

  • Proven experience in business development and sales, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, achieving EBIDTA targets, increasing ADC, and reducing OPEX.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector or a relevant industry is advantageous.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement business development strategies.
  • Results-driven mindset focused on achieving revenue and performance objectives.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the capability to lead and inspire a team towards success.
  • Problem-solving skills.

B. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional leadership and management abilities, including the capacity to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess financial performance, market trends, and business opportunities.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and industry influencers.
  • Proven capability to drive revenue growth, optimize financial performance, and minimize operating expenses.
  • Proficiency in marketing, business development, admissions, and operations.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to effectively convey the organization's value proposition and negotiate business agreements.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality, including knowledge of relevant regulations regarding patient information.

C. Physical Requirements:

  • 30-50% travel, with some overnight stays required.
  • Able to walk approximately 1-2 miles during an eight-hour shift.
  • Able to sit continuously for periods ranging from half an hour to four hours within an eight-hour workday.
  • Able to frequently ascend and descend stairs.
  • Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

D. Other Requirements:

  • If recovering, a minimum of two (2) years of continuous, verifiable sobriety.
  • Must maintain a constant state of alertness to perform the job safely.
  • Regular attendance, including participation in conference calls and onsite meetings as necessary.
  • Pass required background checks, drug screenings, and motor vehicle reports.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and comply with fleet policy requirements as necessary.
