Govcon Business Development Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our business development initiatives, covering sales, marketing, and outreach strategies. Our organization proudly operates as a Service-Disabled Veteran Small Business within the Government Contractor Realm.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct market assessments and manage business development activities to support growth within the government National Security market and Cyber Security market.
- Identify and qualify new business development opportunities and lead/assist in the capture management and proposal development processes.
- Lead the Business Development team with the identification, qualification, and determination for bids on upcoming business development opportunities both inside and outside of the manager's assigned business areas.
- Support executive leadership in staying aware of and preparing new business development opportunities, including upcoming business development targets, market outreach events, contract industry day events, and other important outreach events.
- Minimum 3 years leading a GovCon proposal or capture team.
- Minimum 5 years of GovCon business development experience.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in technical writing.
- Proven ability to develop business at executive and mid-levels.
- Knowledge of decision makers, strategic direction, and major programs in the subject market space.
- Ability to up-sell and expand services from existing contracts.
- Successful track record developing business in new markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of developing and delivering effective sales presentations.
- Excellent proposal development skills.
- Demonstrated success targeting and winning services contracts.
- Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies leveraging partnerships with vendors and other industry partners.
- Strong interpersonal and relational skills with appropriate transparency.
- Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task in a team environment.
- Collaborative leader with ability to pull together cross-functional support for BD initiatives.
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education and experience.
