Role Overview

As a Lead Business Analyst, you will oversee a team of Business Analysts, responsible for gathering requirements on designated initiatives within the Standard Commercial Underwriting Platform (SCUP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of Business Analysts to create business/system process flows and define detailed requirements for new or modified SCUP components.
  • Facilitate workshops with Business Subject Matter Experts (Underwriting, Operations, Actuarial, etc.) across various geographical regions and Lines of Business to elicit business requirements.
  • Conduct meetings with diverse Business Subject Matter Experts and IT Architects, driving consensus on requirements.
  • Mentor and manage a team of junior Business Analysts.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed system specifications.
  • Document requirements to assist business partners in prioritizing and verifying needs while minimizing unnecessary variations.
  • Collaborate directly with IT Architects and Development teams to clarify requirements and address defects.
  • Channel business input into solution design and validate against business objectives.
  • Proactively pursue open questions/issues to drive requirements artifacts to approval.
  • Review the quality of requirements artifacts produced by junior BA roles.
  • Lead business demonstrations with senior leadership.
  • Build effective working relationships with business partners and project team members at all levels to enhance collaboration and communication.

Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years of full life cycle experience in a similar role with comparable responsibilities.
  • Experience in defining Product Frameworks, including Product Definition, rules, and inheritance, particularly with Duck Creek technology.
  • Prior experience in Commercial Insurance is essential.
  • Experience in an international environment is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in process and workflow improvement is required.
