Financial Analysis Manager

The Financial Analysis Manager will report directly to the Controller and will be instrumental in steering the forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and analytical processes related to financial and operational performance for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Forecasting and Budgeting**: Lead the development and execution of the forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring collaboration with various teams including Commercial, Operations, and Finance.
2. **Variance Analysis**: Conduct thorough weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance analyses, providing actionable insights and recommendations to enhance Profit & Loss (P&L), operational working capital, and cash flow management.
3. **Performance Meetings**: Oversee the weekly P&L meetings and internal Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, collaborating with operations to devise recovery plans and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
4. **Inventory Management**: Analyze the financial implications of inventory management, focusing on working capital, LIFO, LCM, and FCA assessments. Develop and implement strategies for inventory counts, including cycle count procedures and full physical counts.
5. **Process Improvement**: Identify and implement enhanced processes and controls within the finance department, particularly in the financial planning and analysis domain. Lead Kaizen events to uncover and execute process improvement opportunities.
6. **Project Management**: Manage special finance projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by the Controller. Supervise the Cost Accountant role and develop management metrics.
7. **Cross-Functional Support**: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams to align financial capabilities with sales forecasts and analyze margins, recommending actions to address any discrepancies with overall company objectives.
Qualifications
- A degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, CPA, or CMA credentials are preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a multi-site, publicly traded company environment.
Competencies
- Proficient in all MS Office applications and internet tools.
- High self-motivation and a strong drive for success.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Understanding of Financial Accounting Standards (FAS).
- Familiarity with financial management systems such as Hyperion and Great Plains.
- Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong people management skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
