Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled Labor Relations Accounting Supervisor to join our North America headquarters. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and the added benefit of complimentary meals.

The Labor Relations Accounting Supervisor will oversee the Union Accounting team, ensuring accurate interpretation of labor agreements and compliance with contractual obligations while managing the calculation and remittance of benefit contributions and union dues.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of approximately 6-7 Union Accountants/Analysts.
  • Conduct audits of prior payments and analyze trends, identifying gaps in processes and areas of non-compliance.
  • Perform random monthly reviews of compliance audits with external vendors, tracking metrics on findings.
  • Assist in resolving complex issues related to research, reconciliation, and various types of union payments.
  • Analyze labor agreements to determine accurate payable amounts and payment schedules.
  • Review monthly contribution calculations and ensure proper posting to SAP.
  • Guarantee that the team meets departmental standards for accuracy, timeliness, and customer service.
  • Facilitate training and development for team members to ensure their success.
  • Play a pivotal role in the development and documentation of new policies and procedures.
  • Establish metrics to measure individual performance within the team.
  • Conduct yearly performance evaluations for team members.
  • Engage with Labor Relations on issues regarding CBA language.
  • Support Labor Relations with ad hoc analysis requests.
  • Continuously seek improvements in departmental procedures to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum of two years of Accounts Payable experience.
  • At least one year of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Proficient in Excel with a working knowledge of Access.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
