Overview:
Cedar Fair Entertainment Company is looking for a Manager of Associate Relations.

The Manager of Associate Relations is tasked with overseeing sensitive inquiries related to employee misconduct, focusing on issues such as harassment, intimidation, retaliation, and discrimination, while offering strategic recommendations to management.

Provide management with insights on effectively resolving employee concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
Minimize organizational risk by conducting intricate and sensitive employee relations investigations.

Develop strong collaborations with essential departments, including Security, Safety, and Staff Services, to cultivate trust and accountability.

Carry out comprehensive and prompt investigations into claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other allegations of unfair treatment, in accordance with Cedar Fair Entertainment Company policies.

Perform investigations ranging from routine to complex, which includes interviewing employees as an impartial fact-finder, reviewing employee documentation, and analyzing associate data in a timely manner.

Ensure adherence to service level metrics, including a maximum 48-hour response time to employee concerns, and meet established timelines for concluding investigations.


Prepare written reports and summaries of findings, supported by documentation that is fair, impartial, and reflective of the facts, analyzing information to determine if there has been a policy violation.

Based on a thorough analysis of investigation evidence, provide management with recommendations for appropriate actions, including disciplinary measures.

Identify and escalate issues to relevant company stakeholders as necessary.

Present insights into employee relations trends within the organization and propose solutions to mitigate risks to the company's reputation, business objectives, or overall employee experience.

Ensure consistent interpretation and application of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company policies and practices in all aspects of the employment relationship, particularly concerning employee investigations and related disciplinary actions.

Offer consultation to management and employees regarding all facets of employee relations and related policies and procedures.

Maintain a professional demeanor that aligns with company standards.
Provide guidance and coaching to management and the HR People & Culture team to ensure proper handling and resolution of employee relations matters.

Travel may be required as needed, up to 20%.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Labor Relations, or an equivalent combination of professional experience and years of human resources management experience. 2-3 years of experience in conducting employee relations investigations in a high-volume setting. Proven expertise in interview techniques, record-keeping principles, reporting, research methodologies, and data analysis. 3-5 years of labor relations experience in a unionized environment. Comprehensive knowledge of labor relations practices and legal requirements.High level of professional discernment and discretion when managing confidential information. Proven ability to communicate effectively and maintain high organizational standards.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Bi-lingual in Spanish. Completion of a professional investigative interviewing certification program. Labor Relations professional certification program completion. SHRM-CP, PHR certification. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Employee Relations Incident Reporting systems, such as Ethicspoint. #LI-KW1
