Position Overview:
Coordinate, manage, and oversee labor initiatives and/or tasks. Direct, guide, and synchronize the efforts of Turner Trade labor personnel, subcontractors, and/or suppliers. Ensure timely delivery, quality assurance of work executed, and compliance with project financial plans and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a hands-on supervisor while guiding and managing labor teams to accomplish tasks.
  • Promote a workplace culture where all individuals uphold the highest standards of mutual respect and care, in alignment with Turner's Active Caring philosophy, among teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Oversee and make informed decisions regarding work performance and discuss jobsite requirements with project Superintendents and fellow foremen concerning logistics, organization, site layout, equipment, quality assurance, and workforce efficiency to assist with jobsite maintenance, rough carpentry, site logistics, fencing, deck and platform construction, protective systems, and waste management.
  • Collaborate with the project team to establish timelines and determine work sequencing. Formulate and execute recovery plans to uphold project timelines as necessary.
  • Work with the project team to schedule and expedite the delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Create labor schedules and assign tasks to crew members.
  • Supervise work among designated trade teams to ensure cohesive project operations.
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to confirm their understanding of their responsibilities and work execution plans, while monitoring their progress.
  • Manage contracted work to ensure adherence to and alignment with approved contract specifications.
  • Investigate and document resolutions for issues within the assigned work scope.
  • Collaborate closely with the Superintendent to address local area challenges related to procedures, precedence, design clarifications, labor adequacy, equipment scheduling, and other pertinent matters.
  • Document issues identified in Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) or other required documentation, rectify deficiencies (prior to implementation), and record corrections made to those deficiencies.
  • Review, complete, and submit daily documentation as required for time sheets, production records, extra work tickets, daily construction reports (DCRs), and safety documentation.
  • Collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and Quality Control teams to ensure overall site safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience is required, including a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain active OSHA 30-hour certification or be willing to obtain certification.
  • Ability to lead, delegate, engage, and inspire teams.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Adept at critical thinking and exercising sound judgment to resolve issues.
  • Capability to read, comprehend, and interpret construction contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project timelines to execute work activities effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and engage with all levels of teams, clients, business partners, and management.
  • Basic computer proficiency to utilize company and project applications (e.g., smart phone/iPad).
  • Proficient understanding of Environmental Health Safety (EH&S) processes and regulations.
  • Ability to mentor team members and provide performance feedback.
  • Willingness to travel using various modes (e.g., automobile, train, air) and accommodate night and weekend work as necessary.
  • Valid state and/or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) as applicable for operating equipment and/or traveling as needed using personal or company vehicles.

Frequently: Lifting/lowering/carrying weights 25-50 lbs., reaching above shoulder height, bending at waist (forward & sideways), pushing/pulling, climbing, repetitive motion, and exposure to noise/dust/chemical. Occasionally: Sitting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, confined space hazards, and lifting/lowering/carrying weights over 50 lbs.
