Job Summary

Cedar Fair Entertainment Company is seeking a highly skilled Associate Relations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for conducting sensitive investigations related to associate misconduct, providing guidance to management decision makers, and ensuring a fair and impartial resolution of associate concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigation and Resolution: Conduct thorough and timely investigations into discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other allegations of unfair treatment based on legally protected categories or as otherwise included in Cedar Fair Entertainment Company policies.
  • Partnering with Departments: Build strong partnerships with key departments, including Security, Safety, and Staff Services, to foster trust and accountability.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Prepare written reports and summary of findings, with supporting documentation, which are fair, impartial, and represent the facts and analyze information to determine whether the facts suggest an associate was subjected to a violation of policy.
  • Consultation and Guidance: Provide consultation, guidance, and coaching to management and HR People & Culture team to ensure appropriate handling and resolution of associate relations matters.
  • Travel and Other Duties: Travel required as needed or directed, up to 20%, and perform other duties as assigned by Director, Associate Experience.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Labor Relations or equivalent combination of professional experience and education. 3-5 years human resources management experience, 2-3 years experience conducting employee relations investigations in a high-volume environment.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Proven experience in interview techniques, principles and procedures of record keeping and reporting, research techniques and data collection and analysis. Thorough knowledge of labor relations practices and legal requirements. High level of professional discernment and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bi-lingual Spanish, Professional investigative interviewing certification program completion, Labor Relations professional certification program completion, SHRM-CP, PHR, Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Employee Relations Incident Reporting system experience, such as Ethicspoint.
