Position Summary

The Consultant Management Team (CMT) oversees all engineering and design services related to Substation and Transmission line projects. This team manages a diverse portfolio of projects, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion. In this role, you will serve as a technical project manager or project lead for designated substation initiatives.

In this capacity, you will utilize comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles across various assignments and related fields. You will independently resolve engineering challenges and represent the organization in project discussions to address critical issues and coordinate efforts. This role demands advanced methodologies and the adaptation of established theories and practices within the field.


As a recognized technical expert, you will apply advanced theories, concepts, and processes within your area of responsibility. You will contribute to the formulation of new principles and concepts, tackling complex problems that require innovative approaches and sophisticated research techniques. You will manage significant projects or multiple complex initiatives, acting as the organization's representative on advanced projects and advising management and clients on technical research and applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate extensive technical expertise and a comprehensive understanding of related disciplines. Apply advanced technical principles and contribute to the development of new standards.
  • Conduct research to establish procedures, codes, and standards in complex problem areas, supporting the creation of technical documentation.
  • Exercise authority and provide technical leadership on self-initiated assignments that align with long-term business objectives.
  • Lead multiple critical projects encompassing research, design, equipment selection, installation, and evaluation of project outcomes.
  • Advise management and clients on advanced technical research and manage bid processes, including the preparation of bid documents and technical evaluations.
  • Act as the organization's spokesperson on advanced projects, influencing communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee engineers, interns, and technicians, fostering mentoring relationships to enhance knowledge transfer and professional development.
  • Coordinate processes related to budgeting, estimating, and work order management to support ongoing engineering projects.

Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

· Relevant engineering experience: 9+ years for Principal level, 5+ years for Senior level, and 2+ years for Staff level.

· Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required for Principal level and preferred for Senior level.
