Position Summary

The Consultant Management Team (CMT) oversees all engineering and design services related to Substation and Transmission line initiatives. This team manages a diverse portfolio of projects, necessitating a focus on high-priority tasks to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion. In this capacity, you will serve as a technical project manager or project lead for designated substation assignments.

In this role, you will utilize extensive knowledge of engineering principles across various assignments and related fields. You will independently resolve engineering challenges and represent the organization in project discussions to address critical issues and coordinate work effectively. This position demands advanced techniques and the adaptation of theories and practices from the field and associated disciplines. The expertise required for this role typically arises from progressive experience.


As a recognized technical expert, you will apply advanced theories, concepts, and principles within your area of responsibility. You will contribute to the development of innovative principles and concepts. Challenges will often involve complex studies that require unconventional approaches and sophisticated research techniques. You will be responsible for significant projects or multiple complex assignments of moderate to large scope, acting as a spokesperson for the organization on advanced initiatives. You will also advise management and clients on advanced technical research and applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate extensive technical expertise and a comprehensive understanding of related disciplines. Apply advanced principles and contribute to the establishment of new technical standards.
  • Conduct research to develop procedures, codes, and standards in complex problem areas, supporting the creation of technical documentation through innovative approaches.
  • Exercise authority and technical leadership on self-initiated assignments that have significant long-term implications for business objectives.
  • Lead multiple critical projects, including research, design, equipment specification, installation, commissioning, and evaluation of progress.
  • Advise management and clients on advanced technical research and manage bid processes, including preparation of bid documents and technical evaluations.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for advanced projects, influencing communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee engineers, interns, and technicians, fostering mentoring relationships for knowledge transfer and continuous development of technical skills.
  • Coordinate processes related to budgeting, estimating, and work order management in support of ongoing engineering projects.

Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent).

· Relevant engineering experience: 9+ years for Principal level, 5+ years for Senior level, and 2+ years for Staff level.

· Professional Engineer (PE) registration required for Principal level; Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred for Staff level.
