Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Substation Engineer to join our team at Dashiell. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of electrical substation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple engineering teams to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Assign projects to engineering teams based on project requirements and personnel availability
  • Coordinate with construction and purchasing departments to ensure project goals are met
  • Ensure project teams are using project-specific standards and design efforts are progressing efficiently
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with customer representatives, project teams, and management
  • Prepare and track project schedules and budgets
  • Apply engineering application software to complete tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and short circuit and load flow studies
  • Perform project engineering and design functions when necessary to meet project schedules
  • Work with project engineers to ensure project teams apply engineering standards
  • Properly use the document management system
  • Ensure project team members are working in a responsible manner and taking ownership of their work
  • Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the industry
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in substation engineering and design
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and manage engineering teams
  • Strong knowledge of common engineering application software
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI
