Position Overview
The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking an Administrative Assistant 2 to join the Parking and Transportation Services Department. This role is vital for delivering exceptional customer service and managing financial transactions through various communication channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional customer service and effectively handle challenging situations in person, via phone, or through email.
- Adapt to evolving circumstances and meet customer needs efficiently.
- Maintain and monitor customer records and information accurately.
- Assess customer parking eligibility and provide guidance on alternative transportation options.
- Generate daily system reports for departmental deposits and compile operational data on a regular basis.
- Review incoming applications for completeness and assist applicants as needed.
- Offer comprehensive information regarding specific programs and policies to customers.
- Coordinate ADA parking arrangements for eligible individuals.
- Process citation voids in accordance with departmental policies.
- Issue daily permits for restricted areas as required.
- Accurately collect and process revenue received in person or through the mail.
- Manage payroll deduction forms, including enrollments and cancellations, with precision.
- Oversee outgoing mailings and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of clerical and administrative support experience, which may include maintaining records, preparing documents, assisting customers, or performing secretarial duties.
- Alternatively, one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service may be considered.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be accepted.
A valid Class 'C' driver's license or higher is required upon appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
Physical Requirements:
This position necessitates frequent walking or standing, with the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong communication skills are highly valued.
- Proficiency in data entry is encouraged.
Work Schedule:
The standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, subject to change based on departmental needs.
This position is classified as Essential Personnel, which may require working outside of regular hours during emergencies or special events.
Compensation:
Grade 25. Salary placement is determined by the Nevada Administrative Code, considering recruitment factors, candidate qualifications, and internal equity.
