Position Summary
Tactical Air is actively seeking an Information System Security Officer who will play a crucial role in the formulation, execution, and upkeep of the organization's information security strategy. This position is vital for the effective oversight and safeguarding of Tactical Air's information systems, data, and networks. The ideal candidate will align with the company's objectives and mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration of the organization's mission planning systems.
- Oversee the installation and upgrading of servers, workstations, SAN/NAS storage, operating systems, and software.
- Monitor system performance and health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve service requests.
- Conduct system backups, disaster recovery, and data restoration.
- Manage security tools, patches, and anti-malware solutions.
- Administer user access controls, ensuring that access rights correspond with roles and responsibilities.
- Facilitate security awareness training to help employees recognize the significance of information security, potential threats, and their responsibilities in protecting information.
- Support the company's CMMC 2.0 program Level 2 certification efforts to ensure adherence to relevant security standards, such as NIST SP 800-53/171.
- Assist in identifying, investigating, and resolving security incidents, taking necessary actions to mitigate risks and prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain detailed records of security-related activities, prepare reports, and assist in generating metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of security measures.
- Stay informed about emerging security threats and vulnerabilities, providing recommendations for maintaining compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security monitoring, assessment, and auditing methodologies.
- High school diploma (GED) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration or security roles.
- Possession of CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP+ certification.
- Experience in security audits and assessments, risk management, incident response, security documentation, and compliance.
- Ability to address information security risks and controls across the organization and promote the benefits of effective risk monitoring.
- Proficient in handling classified or protected information and maintaining records in compliance with standard practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
- Willingness to travel to various work sites as required.
- Valid state driver's license.
- U.S. Citizenship with an active and current DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an advanced degree.
- In-depth understanding of network and system architecture, including cloud-based environments.
- Strong proficiency in Windows-based systems and the ability to utilize various software applications (Microsoft Office 365/GCC High/MS Teams preferred) for creating documents, reports, and presentations.
Work Authorization and Environment
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
- Tactical Air Support is a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
- Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be necessary.
