Promotional Opportunity:

In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice informs all employees of the Office of Mental Health of the intention to potentially conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Business Officer 2, Grade 23, at the Office of Mental Health, Central Office.

Permanent appointments may be made through non-competitive promotion of applicants who meet the position's minimum qualifications if all requirements for a non-competitive promotion appointment are satisfied.

To be eligible for a non-competitive promotion examination, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in roles such as Business Officer 1, Administrative Specialist 1, Contract Management Specialist 1, Human Resources Specialist 1, Nutrition Services Administrator 1, Auditor 1, Senior Budgeting Analyst, Senior Health Care Fiscal Analyst, or Resource and Reimbursement Agent 1.



Provisional Opportunity:
In the absence of a valid eligible list, candidates who meet the following promotion qualifications may qualify for a provisional appointment:

One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in roles such as Business Officer 1, Administrative Specialist 1, Contract Management Specialist 1, Human Resources Specialist 1, Nutrition Services Administrator 1, Auditor 1, Senior Budgeting Analyst, Senior Health Care Fiscal Analyst, or Resource and Reimbursement Agent 1.

If provisionally appointed, candidates must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title, and their score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before permanent appointment can occur. Failure to pass the examination or achieve a reachable score may result in non-retention.
