Job Overview:

General Summary:

Vertex is at the forefront of advancing innovative therapies, and we are looking for a dynamic Senior Manager to enhance our Biopharma Cell and Genetic Therapies (BCGT) team. This pivotal role will oversee the readiness of our internal manufacturing facilities, ensuring that capital expenditure management aligns with equipment acquisition, qualification, and related timelines. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a diverse team and present findings to senior leadership, driving strategic initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee Capital Expenditure management to maintain budget adherence, ensuring timely execution and swift resolution of budget modifications.
  • Facilitate funding initiatives for cross-departmental budget proposals.
  • Foster communication across various functional teams to ensure alignment and prioritization of projects.
  • Prepare and present project requests to leadership, highlighting potential impacts and justifications for prioritization.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Readiness Team to assess requests and summarize their potential effects on project timelines.
  • Document and drive decisions regarding project prioritization.
  • Manage multiple initiatives across various sites, implementing best practices.
  • Undertake additional projects as necessary to fulfill departmental objectives.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with workflows related to facility modification projects of varying scales.
  • Proficient in project management tools, including budget and schedule controls, with a solid understanding of finance and accounting principles.
  • Expertise in driving project goals and effectively advancing initiatives.
  • Passionate about developing processes and systems that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of conveying complex ideas and fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while influencing business leaders.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in data analysis and presentation, particularly using Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint.

Education and Experience:
