Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Facilities Project Manager to join our team at The Museum of Science. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering projects that support the museum's operations and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Director of Facilities to develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate with various stakeholders, including museum staff, contractors, and consultants, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to museum staff on facilities-related matters, including maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
  • Develop and implement sustainability and accessibility initiatives to support the museum's environmental and social responsibility goals.
  • Collaborate with the facilities team to develop and implement maintenance and repair schedules to ensure optimal building performance and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide support and guidance to museum staff on emergency preparedness and response procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management, project management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability and accessibility principles and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with building management systems and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
  • Experience working in a museum or cultural institution setting.
