Training and Program Development Specialist

This position is located in the Office of the Director and reports to the Director of Training and Program Development. The employee serves as the Training and Program Development Specialist for Community Relations Service (CRS) national training and program initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develops, revises, plans, and evaluates internal and external training-related policies, materials, aids, and procedures that standardize the delivery of CRS services, and the professional development of CRS's staff.
- Collaborates with DOJ and other Federal agencies, as well as with other CRS stakeholders, regarding emerging, controversial, or complex issues identified primarily at the national level.
- Develops and implements training plans to support employees, mastery of programmatic offerings provided to internal and external stakeholders.
- Establishes and implements a broad range of training methods and programs, such as simulation exercises, mentoring, structured on the job processes, ongoing professional development, and continuous learning opportunities in support of CRS staff.
- Leads initiatives to conduct skill gaps analyses that assess current competency proficiency levels and identify gaps in staff proficiency.
- Ensures a consistent approach to individual training, employee development, and program delivery.
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or trial period.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

To qualify for the position of Training and Program Development Specialist, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to.
Specialized Experience: To qualify for this Training and Program Development Specialist position at the GS-13 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service.
Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis:
- Leading training programs/projects for an organization.
- Designing and facilitating training workshops to improve staff development.
- Developing training materials to improve staff functionality.
