Job Title: Reentry Program Specialist

Join the Mayor's Office of Talent and Appointments (MOTA) as a Reentry Program Specialist and play a vital role in supporting the reintegration of individuals returning to the community after incarceration.

Job Summary

The Reentry Program Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to support the reentry process, working closely with stakeholders to identify and address the needs of returning citizens. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs to support the reentry process, including coordination with community-based organizations and government agencies.
  • Provide guidance and support to returning citizens, including assistance with employment, education, and housing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address the needs of returning citizens, including developing and implementing strategies to address barriers to reentry.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community-based organizations and government agencies to ensure effective collaboration and resource sharing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, counseling, or public administration.
  • At least 3 years of experience in program development and implementation, with a focus on reentry and returning citizens.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and resource sharing.
  • Knowledge of reentry and returning citizens resources and services, including government agencies and community-based organizations.
