Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Propulsion division. This role involves providing comprehensive supplier quality oversight for the production of engineered components and commodity materials.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Supplier Management, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement methodologies. A solid understanding of GD&T and Project Management principles is essential, along with the ability to facilitate team efforts effectively.


Key Responsibilities:


As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will lead supplier performance management initiatives by:
1. Analyzing performance metrics to identify areas for enhancement and driving supplier development actions.
2. Proactively reducing and preventing defects in supplied materials while verifying defect claims.
3. Leading cross-functional teams to achieve performance improvements aligned with departmental and organizational objectives.
4. Mitigating risks associated with supplier quality and minimizing business impacts from material defects.
5. Reviewing and coaching supplier corrective action requests and leading on-site supplier evaluations, including performance assessments and Quality System audits.
6. Developing innovative solutions to complex problems requiring creativity and ingenuity.
7. Providing project management support for various initiatives and processes.
8. Exercising independent judgment in evaluating methods and techniques to achieve desired outcomes.
9. Influencing supplier selection and enhancing Supplier Quality standards.
10. Expecting to travel approximately 25% of the time.

This position requires on-site presence five days a week.


Qualifications:


To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
1. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)).
2. A minimum of 6-9 years of relevant experience, subject to local laws/regulations.
3. A Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred.
4. Experience with manufactured products across chemical, electrical, electronic, and mechanical domains.
5. Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 standards and Quality Management Systems.
6. Proven experience in Supplier Management, Project Management, and Change Management.
7. Expertise in manufacturing Special Processes and related industry standards (Nadcap).
8. Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis for complex nonconformities and implementing effective corrective actions.
9. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen.
10. Experience in conducting supplier audits and strong interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
11. Excellent presentation skills to analyze and communicate data effectively.
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
