We are seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Propulsion division. This role is pivotal in delivering quality assurance for both the production of engineered components and the procurement of commodity materials.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Supplier Management related to manufactured goods, along with a solid understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, Continuous Improvement methodologies, Data Analysis, Specification Review, and Inspection Techniques. A strong grasp of GD&T and Project Management skills, including team facilitation, is essential.

Exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills are critical, along with a strong commitment to quality. The candidate must effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Program Management and Subcontracts Management, to achieve and enhance established quality and delivery objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead supplier performance management by analyzing performance metrics, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving supplier development initiatives.

2. Proactively reduce and prevent defects in supplied materials and verify claims of supplied material defects.

3. Lead cross-functional teams to pursue performance enhancements aligned with departmental and organizational objectives.

4. Mitigate business risks associated with supplied material defects and enhance supplier quality.

5. Review, coach, and accept supplier corrective action requests.

6. Conduct on-site supplier engagements, including performance evaluations, process assessments, and Quality System audits.

7. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems requiring creativity and ingenuity.

8. Provide project management support and guidance for various projects and processes.

9. Utilize independent judgment in applying methods and evaluation criteria to achieve results.

10. Lead the development and enhancement of Supplier Quality standard practices and strategies.

11. Influence supplier selection processes.

12. Travel approximately 25% of the time.

This position requires on-site presence five days a week.

Qualifications:


Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)) and possess a minimum of 6-9 years of pertinent experience, unless restricted by local laws/regulations. A degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

Experience with manufactured products that include chemical, electrical, electronic, and mechanical components is essential.

Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS) is required.

Demonstrated experience in Supplier Management, Project Management, and Change Management is necessary.

Expertise in manufacturing Special Processes and related industry standards (Nadcap) is a plus.

Ability to conduct root cause analysis for moderate to complex nonconformities and implement effective corrective actions is expected.

Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen is advantageous.

Proficiency in conducting supplier audits is required.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential for influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Excellent presentation skills are necessary for analyzing and communicating data to leadership.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
