Logistics Operations Supervisor

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily functions and organization of warehouse operations. This role involves providing guidance to team members while adhering to established policies and procedures. The supervisor's performance is evaluated based on the effectiveness of decision-making and the overall quality and efficiency of operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, train, and foster continuous improvement among warehouse personnel.
- Generate and distribute essential reports related to inventory levels, obsolete stock, product age, and consumption rates.
- Ensure the quality and quantity of stored goods meet company standards.
- Conduct regular random inspections of inventory and warehouse conditions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and its surroundings.
- Evaluate space availability and develop stacking/storage strategies before the arrival of goods.
- Collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure timely and efficient receipt and inventory of materials.
- Proactively communicate with management regarding any material-related issues that could affect shipping timelines.
- Establish appropriate stock levels to fulfill customer service requirements and comply with company policies.
- Oversee transactions related to material availability and order accuracy.
- Work alongside the Quality Engineer to uphold safety, operational, and regulatory standards in line with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety Association (OHSA) guidelines.
- Take responsibility for quality in relation to job functions and possess the authority to address quality concerns at any level.
- High School diploma or GED; a minimum of three years of experience in assembly and manufacturing environments, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Logistics principles.
- Thorough understanding of cycle counting methods and processes.
- Skilled in analyzing and designing supply chain solutions with a strong focus on information systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and SAP.
- Regular participation in Safety Committee meetings to review the performance of QMS, EMS, and OHSA, ensuring processes remain effective and sustainable.
- Continuous evaluation of improvement opportunities and necessary adjustments to management systems.
- Frequent standing, use of hands for operating tools and controls, reaching, and effective communication.
- Occasional walking, sitting, and may require bending, kneeling, or crawling.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Capability to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse setting.
