Key Responsibilities
Develop precise and timely scopes of work. The Supervisor is expected to complete estimates within budget and on schedule as outlined by the Project Manager (PM).
Technical Proficiency
Possess a comprehensive understanding of all trades and subcontractors involved in restoration tasks.
Assessment of Needs/Risks
- Scopes: Timely and accurate scopes must be prepared and submitted to the project manager for evaluation, essential for our estimating team to finalize an estimate for insurance approval.
- Tools: The Supervisor should have their own tools readily available and in working condition. Coordinate with rental services for specialized equipment as needed and maintain company-owned tools.
- Safety: Ensure a safe work environment for all employees and subcontractors on-site.
- Materials: The Supervisor is accountable for ensuring all materials are available on-site when needed by subcontractors or employees. Coordinate with suppliers and ensure materials are stored securely, adhering to budget constraints.
- Introduce yourself to clients and conduct a thorough needs assessment.
- Manage client expectations regarding workflow and processes.
- Address client objections and concerns effectively.
- Share completed estimates with clients to ensure mutual agreement on proposals.
- Maintain weekly communication with clients while awaiting estimate approval to prevent confusion and potential job losses.
- Ensure clients receive an approved schedule and are informed of any changes.
- Clarify material allowances with clients.
- Complete and obtain signatures for change orders.
- Conduct final inspections and walkthroughs before job completion.
- Document all job statuses and dates, and inform the PM upon job completion.
- Ensure accurate scopes are completed and submitted to the project manager.
- Document weekly client communications in the designated software.
- Upload daily notes and photographs during the project.
- Create change orders and material selection forms.
- Compile final documentation and photographs.
- Provide a detailed scope of work to the reconstruction manager for estimating purposes, demonstrating the technical expertise necessary to restore properties to their pre-loss condition.
- Understand the work breakdown structure and ensure projects are completed within the assigned budget.
- Familiarize yourself with the project schedule provided by the PM.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure adherence to the established schedule.
- Ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure subcontractors are punctual, professionally attired, courteous, and compliant with agreements.
- Prevent discussions regarding pricing or payment with clients.
- Prohibit conversations about additional side work with clients.
- Conduct quality control assessments and create punch lists with subcontractors.
- Address any deficiencies with subcontractors promptly.
- Keep subcontractors informed of any client complaints.
- Encourage subcontractors to submit final invoices promptly upon project completion.
- Complete OSHA 10 Certification within the first 90 days (company-sponsored).
