The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the organization and daily functions related to warehouse activities. The supervisor interprets and implements policies that impact warehouse personnel and monitors daily operations, offering assistance and direction as necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, train, and foster continuous improvement among warehouse staff and teams.
- Prepare and distribute essential reports, including inventory levels, dead stock, and product age.
- Ensure the quality and quantity of stored goods meet company standards.
- Conduct regular physical inspections of inventory and commodities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and its surroundings.
- Evaluate space availability and develop stacking/storage plans before the arrival of goods.
- Collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure timely and efficient receipt and inventory of materials.
- Proactively communicate with the Warehouse Manager and Production Manager regarding material issues that could affect shipping schedules.
- Establish appropriate stock levels to fulfill customer service requirements and adhere to company policies.
- Oversee transactions related to material availability and accuracy of open orders.
- Work alongside the Quality Engineer to uphold compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards within Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety Association (OHSA).
- Take responsibility for quality in relation to job functions and possess the authority to address quality issues at any level.
- High School diploma or GED; a minimum of three years of experience in assembly and manufacturing operations is preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills are essential.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Logistics principles.
- Comprehensive understanding of cycle counting methods and processes.
- Strong analytical skills in designing supply chain solutions with a focus on information systems.
- Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, and SAP.
- Regular participation in Safety Committee meetings to review the performance of QMS, EMS, and OHSA, ensuring processes remain effective and sustainable.
- Continuous evaluation of improvement opportunities and necessary adjustments to management systems.
- Frequent standing, use of hands for operating tools and controls, reaching, and communication.
- Occasional walking, sitting, and the need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Capability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
