Senior Actuary for Legal Entity Analysis

Key Responsibilities

This position is pivotal in delivering comprehensive analysis related to Solvency II and IFRS17 for each legal entity within the SCOR Group that engages in US business:

  • Act as a business partner for the US Reserving team, collaborating with other legal entity reserving teams across the SCOR Group.
  • Ensure timely and precise delivery of US reporting and analysis by legal entity.
  • Generate insights and analyses to elucidate the quarterly Analysis of Change concerning key reserving metrics (IBNP, PVFCF, BEL, CSM), including the effects of model adjustments, assumption modifications, and enforcement actions (novations, recaptures, etc.).
  • Provide analysis and insights to clarify the annual Capital Model run results, detailing the drivers of change across various sensitivity sets while maintaining a solid understanding of business composition.
  • Collaborate with SCOR's Life Risk Modelling team to comprehend and articulate the impacts on Risk Adjustment, Risk Margin, Own Funds, and Solvency Capital Requirement.
  • Assist in the annual assumption review, evaluating and explaining impacts by legal entity, in close cooperation with the broader US Reserving team.
  • Work closely with the wider US Reserving team to ensure that analyses by legal entity align with the overall US perspective.
  • Partner with the Financial Controller's cashflow production team to guarantee that appropriate controls are established for legal entity reporting.
  • Support legal entity reserving teams across the Group with specific audit or regulatory inquiries related to US business.

Focus on Transformation and Simplification:

  • Enhance the process for producing legal entity results, concentrating on creating an efficient workflow that facilitates the delivery of high-quality analytics and insights, in collaboration with the broader Reserving teams.
  • Identify opportunities for simplification and propose effective solutions.
Qualifications

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field with a proven record of academic excellence.
  • Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent.
  • Over 7 years of experience in financial reporting and cash flow analysis or similar fields.
  • Experience with IFRS17 and Solvency II reporting is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present insights to senior leadership effectively.
  • Proven ability to grasp the broader context and implications of decisions.
  • Strong understanding of complex models and analyses to achieve required outcomes.
  • Technically proficient in actuarial disciplines and industry software applications; familiarity with Prophet and SQL is a plus.
  • Well-organized, self-directed, and a collaborative team player.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and interns.
  • Aptitude for building and maintaining relationships with colleagues across the SCOR Group, both in the US and globally.
