Key Responsibilities

  • The OPEB Advisory Actuary will excel in client consultations and data analysis.
  • This position will deliver OPEB advisory services to a diverse range of clients, including public entities, private organizations, and multiemployer groups.
  • The Actuary will articulate actuarial OPEB findings to clients in a straightforward and comprehensible manner, aiding them in addressing complex challenges.
  • Additionally, this role will involve contributing to business development initiatives.
  • In this capacity, you will have significant opportunities for career advancement, potentially becoming the primary consultant for various existing OPEB clients and evolving into an OPEB specialist.

Community Insights

  • This position can be performed remotely from select states.
  • Travel for client engagements is necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in OPEB actuarial consulting.
  • Proficient in conducting actuarial valuations for retiree medical plans (including required financial reports, liability assessments, funding strategies, etc.) and experienced in reviewing detailed actuarial outcomes across various levels of employer-sponsored healthcare consulting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying intricate actuarial concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and Enrolled Actuary (EA) credentials are mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.
