Position Overview:

As a pivotal member of the finance team at Bank of America, the Chief Financial Officer - Senior Legal Entity Controller plays a crucial role in enhancing financial operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute month-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy in general ledger balances and trends.
  • Coordinate and prepare comprehensive internal and external reporting, including regulatory submissions for both standalone and consolidated financial statements.
  • Oversee governance routines for the general ledger, providing expertise on legal entity actions and their financial implications.
  • Contribute to the Corporate Accounting & Analysis (CAA) team, focusing on timely and accurate financial close processes.
  • Engage with various business partners, including Line of Business Finance and Balance Sheet Management, to facilitate collaboration and enhance financial performance.
  • Produce detailed monthly financial reports for executive leadership, addressing ad hoc inquiries and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements, including the Statement of Cash Flows and Earnings per Share, for regulatory filings.
  • Utilize emerging technologies to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyze financial reporting for accuracy, ensuring alignment with expected outcomes.
  • Lead monthly routine meetings and support the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Assist in regulatory reporting and respond to audit requests as necessary.
  • Foster relationships with business partners, providing guidance throughout the month.
  • Drive special projects, transforming innovative ideas into actionable plans.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a focus on presentation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to achieving results.
  • Experience in financial accounting, analysis, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • CPA certification.
  • Experience within the Financial Services sector.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and/or SAP eLedger, as well as tools like Workiva, Alteryx, and Tableau.

Work Environment:
